At the same time with  Minas, Adalyan, Elibekyan, Ara Shiraz, Khatlamajyan with inner obstinacy and calm  patience his path was making Ruben Hovnatanyan. He was never afraid of unprofitable position of keeping to traditions, as in the sphere of his thoughts of seen and invisible relations of human being and things he saw common sounds and whispers, which were sometimes brave and powerful , sometimes dramatic and illigible.

Hovnatanyan bravely was throwhig his inner world and ability to dialogue with nature to the field of art : “this is me - my soul and body are created from these colors and shapes, the window, the road, the man, all the surrounding world are relatives to me and I am the part and the owner of it.

The nature of Armenia, its mountains and canyons, monuments and Biblical eternal Ararat had become for Ruben the sours of inspiraton and later have become a painting.
